Who I Am
My name is Chris Mendoza, I was born and raised in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. I attended school at Ray College of Design, as an Illustration Major, only to find myself quickly falling in love with graphic design (I didn’t want to be a starving artist). Having been hired immediately out of school, I’ve never looked back. My passion for graphic design resonates in everything I do. Music and food are my hobbies and fatherhood is new to me.
What I do as a Graphic Designer
My job as a graphic designer is to help you talk to your customers in language they can understand. meaning, creating content that will inspire your audience to take action. A wicked cool layout with pretty pictures is fantastic, but a smart concept with top-notch execution is far better. The designs I create are easy to navigate and quick to deliver your message.
I generally work with clients on an individual basis. If by chance there’s something that I need collaborating on, I fortunately have an arsenal of professionals to do so, including but not limited to; WordPress Consultants, Copywriters, Print Buyers, Data Storage Providers and Dedicated Coders.
Graphic Design Experience
My career in graphic design started in a small print shop where I learned the ins and outs of commercial printing. Quickly taking advantage of what they had to offer, I was off on my next adventure joining a team of graphic designers. Clients during my 12 year run as a graphic designer include; Chicago Blackhawks, Marantz, GNB, John B. Sanfillipo, Sara Lee, Career Education Corporation, Miller Coors and Jim Beam, just to name a few. In 2011 I decided it was time to launch my own brand of design, giving my clients the opportunity to have professionally executed graphic designs without paying the “Agency” prices. Along the way I’ve developed identity systems, logos, print brochures, direct mail pieces, print ads, websites, and just about every other marketing material needed for organizations, large corporations, universities, small businesses and non-profits.
